I'm Glad I'm Home

Maybe after the first year of college it does get easier to come home. After this past semester where it seemed like I was writing one paper after the other, I was looking forward to visiting my family. About a week ago, I left Hartford and some six hours later, I was in Boise. I still think that it’s not okay that someone people can leave the country faster than I can get home. My parents picked me up and home we went. I was very excited to get home to see the Christmas decorations and family photos that we took back in August.
When I got back last year, I came with only 5 days left before Christmas. This year I had a week and a couple days. In both years, I slept crazy hours the first couple days because I was so tired but this year, I have time to do that and not miss out because my sisters are still at school. Finally this year, I understand what my place is once I am back. I am still the older sister who drives my younger sisters crazy, the daughter who gave my parents a hard time, and a friend to many people in Boise. Although I spend most of the year in CT, when I get back, it’s like I never left and that’s all I can ask for. I miss everyone when I am gone but when I come back, I can easily find out what they have been doing.
